It's your Social Media & Creative Sis, Jenae! ​ Happy Halloween, my bb's! ​ Spoozy SZN is coming to a close... So let's talk about removing DEAD tactics from your socials and content in order to come alive and meet your full potential and goals in 2024! ​ Let's get into it!

1. 🪦Pointing folks to the "Link In Bio"

Here's the TRUTH. The likelihood of people actually taking the directive and clicking on your link may be lower than you'd think. Folks don't log on to IG or any social media platforms to do more work!

✨ Bring your community to LIFE by inviting people to engage with you in the DM's! Build that relationship in real-time (voice messages have been MAJOR for me!)-- showing them that you're a real @$$ person and that you really care. You're just two pretty best friends having a conversation...because you ARE! Folks know when they're being sold to. It's a lot more rare that someone comes at them with a genuine spirit, positive energy, and real, sincere interest; especially on social media.

2. 🪦 Generic templates for special occasions and holidays.

Now hear me out... I'm a CANVA QUEEN, OKAYYY?! I will spend HOURS on that site creating and recreating until the cows come home. However, I see Canva the way I see how I wear make-up. It's not creating a new face for me on a day-to-day basis... It's just accentuating the undeniably awesome features of my face card!

Letting a template represent you (and likely thousands of others 👀 ) may not be the most impactful way to send your messaging across the finish line.

✨ Instead, call folks in with a storytime! Find photos, videos, and interactive and engaging imagery that tells the story of your PERSONAL CONNECTION to the holiday. For example, post a carousel on Instagram interspersing slides of you in costume as a baby and you in costume present-day; with a caption detailing how special these images and this holiday are to you and your family. Button that up with a niche/business-related CTA, and watch that magic pop all the way off! Never ever miss a chance to humanize yourself online.

3. 🪦 Obsessing Over Vanity Metrics. Chasing likes and views? R.I.P.! The STRESS alone is enough to maybe pull back on the need to crank those up on every piece of content.

✨ Instead, call people in with high-value content that prompts saves, shares, and QUESTIONS in the comments and in your DMs. That's what will keep not only your content strategy alive and growing, but your community and *sales* as well. Now obviously, if your bread and butter is within the Influencer route; this tip doesn't (fully) apply. I know that numbers matter for a lot of things (and checks) in this space...But, if you have questions about how to apply this tip to that life--let me know! 4. Not posting and ghosting enough... Yeah, you read that right! Now, I'm not talking about posting once every blue moon and never engaging with your community. I'm talking about posting your fire content and then checking on it every five seconds. This tip doesn't require you to obsess over views, but rather to give views a freakin' chance to happen organically! Don't forget...Your followers want to be spellbound by what you have to say! Let the content breathe and work its magic so you get the incredible reach you deserve! A watched cauldron boils at a toad's pace... if at all!
