Is Chat GPT Watering Down Your Content? 👀

IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME... I SHOULDN'T HAVE LEFT YOU-- WITHOUT A DOPE BEAT TO STEP TO--OR without the tea on all things content marketing and SayQuoi, so, let's get into it!

FIRST OF ALL, at my CORE; I am an artist and a creative. I want to make it extremely clear that I stand with everyone fighting to get the recognition, residuals, payment, and RESPECT that they deserve. Period.

That being said...Because I'm chronically online (so you don't have to be), I notice things--and I've been seeing an uptick in something super unfortunate that may be watering down your content's secret sauce and inviting a lack of engagement, and ultimately, could be counterproductive to your Big Picture goals online... and that's Chat GPT. We have GYAT to talk about it!

to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the Grevin Museum who did their best to honor the star with a wax figure, OR to Chat GPT; but let’s be super honest about A.I. and what it should, and should NOT be doing for you and for your business.

Chat GPT SHOULD:

Be used as a tool to refine and refine and refine once more! Chat GPT LEARNS as you go. You will have to generate and regenerate until it gives you what you want and what your audience needs! It’s an awesome jumping-off point to clarify and streamline your copy, strategy, brand tone, and voice--but it shouldn’t be all of those things FOR you. I don’t believe we will ever truly be able to replace the needed human element with Chat GPT, and I’m never going to be convinced that we should. But if we’re going to use it, we need to let it speak WITH us; not FOR us.

Chat GPT SHOULD NOT:

Do all of the work FOR you. Do ya’ll remember that scene in ‘Bring It On’ where the Toros make an exasperated move and hire Sparky Polastri to choreograph their make-it-or-break-it routine for regionals--and it turns out that guy had been teaching “Spirit Fingers” to every cheer squad that would pay him? ...and what happened? The Toros ended up doing the same routine as another squad on their big day!

Eggzactleeeee... Don’t let Chat GPT be your own version of Sparky Polastri. Copy and strategy are all starting to look and sound the SAME on Beyonce’s innanets! Trust yourself enough to not lean fully on the tool...because it’s just that. A tool. A resource. It is not you, your business, or a fully realized, fleshed-out plan.

Chat GPT SHOULD:

Show you how well you actually know yourself, your business, and your brand. It’s only ever going to be able to regurgitate back to you what you feed it. If you’re feeding it unwavering specifics that maybe just need a bit of tweaking you will be much happier with results and it will actually do what it’s intended to do; which is cut your labor time in half while still accurately representing you.

Chat GPT SHOULD NOT:

Scare you out of your purpose. Learn the tool inside and out to either optimize the helllllll out of it or refine, refine, refine to stay 15 steps ahead of your industry/the game. Again, I’m not of the belief that it should or will ever truly replace that much-needed, required, heart-led, human element that drives content in the digital space--or ANY space; and I see and stand with all who are fighting right now. Stand strong. Stronger than ever.
